Dia de Muertos 2025 — Gala Night in Oslo
A night where memory and life came together aboard MS Bjørvika.
On November 1st, Oslo was filled with color, music, and tradition during our Day of the Dead 2025, Gala Night. This year, the MS Bjørvika turned into a floating altar, bringing together the Mexican community and friends from all over the world to honor life and remembrance.
The evening began with a special moment led by Jaime Castro, who explained the meaning of the Day of the Dead altar. Together, we lit candles and placed offerings to welcome the souls of our loved ones, a touching and heartfelt moment for everyone present.
From the very start, the night was filled with authentic Mexican flavors from Tommy Tortas, La Chilanga Banda, and Botanas La Norteña, who brought a true taste of Mexico to Oslo.
Later, DJ Pepe took over the music, keeping the energy high with a vibrant mix of Latin and Mexican beats.
The Best Costume Award went, once again, to the same person who won last year, as they were the only one who went all out with an incredible outfit. Even though participation was limited, their effort and creativity truly stood out. The prize was a basket of Mexican goodies sponsored by Kaktus, the go-to place for authentic Mexican products in Norway.
One of the most special moments of the night came when Gianfranco, in addition to singing beautiful mariachi songs, performed Las Mañanitas for Tommy, who had just celebrated his birthday.
As the night went on, the party continued on the lower deck of MS Bjørvika, where the atmosphere remained lively and full of joy.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, danced, and shared this beautiful tradition with so much love.
The Day of the Dead in Oslo is not just a party, it’s a bridge between worlds, a way to keep our culture and memories alive.
Because remembering is also a way of celebrating life.
